I want to buy a harmonica holder. I've seen them listed for aroun $10.
Are they pretty much the same.
I will be using this with my hohner diatonic harmonica.
also do they make one that will fit both diatonic and chromatic.
totally clueless about holders, so any advice is appreciated.

cheers

You can buy a holder on eBay for $5-$10.00....very inexpensive, hardly
worth the effort to make one. Do a search on eBay anbd you can see a
bunch of them and what they look like. I imagine you could make one
out of coat hangers and rubber bands if you had to, but the issue
there is stability - it is important that your harp be stable in order
to play it without using your hands at all, os a well designed holder
is important in that regard.

Good Luck,

RR

Make one. It won't collapse, and you can mount your mike and all
kinds of other stuff on it.

First make a flimsy template out of fence wire, then bend 3/8'' aluminum
rod. It takes about 5 feet. Back in the day, they used supply pipe.
Never tackled the problem of the chromatic holder. daveA

A guy named Vern Smith has tackled both the problem of the chromatic
holder and of operation of the button. Sells his solutions ("ergonomic
neck rack" and "hands free chromatic") too. Not in the $10 price range
though.

Very ingenious! It would be great for a four-chord player of
another instrument. Bending is important to me though. daveA
