So we are coming back from our July 3 gig at McKinlyville ,Ca, at 6
Rivers Brewery. It is July 4th and we are invited to a caterer who has
130 acres just outside of Willits( a real hick town),in the mountains
where you almost need a mule to pull your car up the dirt road. The
party is for 150 of his friends and he asked us to play a short
set, about 20 min..Payed us an amazing amount of money for approx . 6
songs. And as I'm waiting to go on the stage that was there I see the
famous HAT,from the back , and i say, holy cow, that looks like Mark
Hummel's hat that man is wearing. He turns around to come back to the
stage and HOLY SH...T it is Mark Hummel!!!. He and his guitar
player,Randolph, are going on right after us. So he is sitting in a
chair 20 ft. directly left of me. I played before 300 people the night
before and it didn't phase me as I have been gigging 1 solid year. But I
was so nervous knowing Mark Hummel was going to be listening to me I
was almost shaking ,while standing on the stage.!!We spoke a while, he
will be doing a workshop at SPAH where I will be also and he and his
band will perform Thus. night at SPAH. He knows me now. Allen

Set went great. Lots of positive comments, and one man there wants to
get us a gig at the Pallet Art Cafe in Healdsburg , where we played
several months ago.Allen
