Thanks for the compliment on the new website, and you're right about the
mystery harp player on the main page. I've been learning a few things
about web design, mostly that it's interesting for a little while and
then it gets very uninteresting. The biggest delay on the website
overhaul is the new finishing material I ordered. My cabinet guy is
going to be using a new spray-on finish that will allow us to take
special orders for any color you can dream up. As soon as he gets the
first several cabinets done in black I can reschedule my photo shoot,
and then I'll have some decent photos to put on the site. So that's the
biggest reason why the site is all disjointed now. It's hard to get
interested in building a website that I don't have the pictures for yet.
About the amps themselves, they're doing well although sales are a bit
slow so far. I'm sure that most people don't want to be the first in
line to try something new, but there have been a few brave souls. I'm
building an amp right now for a new customer in San Diego, named Lance
Dieckmann. Once he gets it in his hands more folks on that end of the
country will be hearing it, and I'm sure that will drum up some
interest. He's getting a really nice amp, a Model 2A with a 1x12 + 2x8
cabinet. I'm really liking mine, especially as the speakers break in
more and more. The only problem I have with my new line of amps is that
I can hear all of the weaknesses in my playing loud and clear now that I
have decent equipment, but I don't have a lot of time to practice.
The only product that I'm having a problem with now is the Mini Amp.
Some of my parts are on backorder, and I have had to change the layout a
few times to get rid of hum, which means I'll eventually have to
redesign the case. When you have a product that plugs into the PA there
is a much higher engineering standard than with a stand-alone amp. So
I'm going to have to put that project on an indeterminate hold until I
get all of the details ironed out. But it is a great circuit that
sounds really good, so I'm not throwing in the towel. I'm still working
to bring the interface up to a high enough standard for a PA, because I
know people are going to like the sound.
Thanks for asking. I'm sure you guys will be hearing these amps more
and more in the near future. People who have them really like them.
And regarding Jimmie Meade, he has the Model 4A and really loves it, but
ever since he borrowed my Model 2A for a week he has been lusting after
one.
Post by SilkWhat's new with Fatdog Amps? The website is looking good and I'm guessing
that's even our own 'lockjaw" on the home page, ...no?? It all sounds good
and I hope you are getting lots of orders. Which one is Jimmie Meade using?
