The song is written in the key of C. It is an F harmonica which is the
second position(or cross harp) of C. Good luck. Allen

As an aside: It can be difficult to repeat this , note for note, as most
if not all blues is improvisational. The same musician can play that
song 5 different times and each time it will be slightly different.Just
get the general idea of the melody and do your onw thing with it on the
F harp. It will be much more enjoyable and much less frustration then
trying to learn it note for note. Hope this helps. Allen

Man, if you like this song, if you play the harp, well then you can take it,
it's very easy, this is school technich, lips wah, throath plus hand vibrato
and all the time the same tricks, liesten a lot, ten times, twenty, take the
harp and tryin' to play, an acoustic play. Try it man, isn't so hard.

I'm pretty new too, but if I were going to try to figure that song out, I
would start by breaking the song into pieces. First I would figure out what
the notes are that the player is hanging on. You know, the notes that he's
holding and wailing on. Once I could play along with the song, just playing
those notes pretty well, then I would start figuring out the up and down
runs that are in between the wailing notes. Go slowly and work on the tone
and breathing too.

Just my $0.02

Either one should do the trick. I got the C-C and it works just fine.

Just like that Patrick, that's it. If somebody learn to play instead of us,
we loose the knowlidge of harp playing.

Good advice all the way around Harpman. The playing reminds me of Charlie
McCoys . Learning it note for note doesnt make much sense to me. The tune
is non descript and a simple moving up and down the scale. It could be done
in a myriad of slight variations and one way would be as good as the next.

Agreed its a simple blues really but well worth trying to copy some of
the way its played. The player moves around really smoothly and
there's some difficult bends which he gets just right (to my ears
anyway) and especially that bending down and back again from the kind
of warble effect (know what I mean? you'll know it when you listen to
the song) which always sounds good (in moderation of course) and is
hard to do well but with practice is quite possible. I don't think
you'd need to learn it note for note but as Zoran the Great said, its a
good track to learn some techniques from. Who is it?

makes those bent notes sound like "not bent notes" if ya know what I
mean .. when I bend a note its kinda obvious ... not with this guy

anyways .. im finally getting it down a bit with you guys help

Seems to me that playing it in 3rd position on a Bb harp makes it easier to
get that player's feel and achieve those bends.
