I used to play the harmonica regularly then I stopped for years. I got
emphysema and thought playing again would be good exercise for my
lungs. I bought a 16 hole "c" Honner but I just do not appear to be
getting it right. I then realised I probably had a 10 or 12 hole
instrument before. Maybe even if a different key. Is this change
likely to throw me? Should I get a 10-12 hole and in what key? I
usually play along to music I hear on the radio, easy and slow.

There are three kinds. Diatonic (blues) usually in 10 holes. Then 12, 16 holes might be chromatic. Most Asian Japanese, Chinese, Korean uses 21/24 holes called tremolo.
